Two Richmond rivals will meet in the final of the Medals Shield after wins on Saturday.
Richmond Mavericks took the lead three times but were pegged back on each occasion in their game against Richmond Town Reserves.
In the end Mavs needed two extra time goals from James Kelly – taking his tally to four for the game – to progress.
Town again threatened a comeback when Brandon Bishop netted, but Mavs held on.
Edward Lewington scored a hat-trick and Danney Allen also got on the scoresheet for Town, while Mavs’ other scorers were Dan Johnson and Andrew Pritchard.
In the other semi-final, Unicorn would have felt they were in control when 2-0 up at half-time against Catterick Garrison thanks to goals from Liam reeves and James Moohan.
However, Garrison came roaring back with Tim Holland bagging two and Matthew Leaf and Gavin Rudd both netting.
Unicorn needed late goals from Carl Handley and Rory Atkinson to take the game to extra time.
Two goals from Liam Reeves and one from Nigel Cole were then enough to secure the win and the place in the final.
In the league, Carperby severely dented Hawes’ title hopes with a 3-0 home win.
Carperby were on the front foot from the start, with in-swinging corners in particular caused havoc in the wet and windy conditions.
The home side took the lead when Paul Stephenson fizzed the ball into Sam Lambert’s feet with the big number nine turning his man and firing the ball into the top corner.
Carperby started the second half as they had played the first and got their reward after good work from Michael Dent who set up Scott Lambert to make it 2-0.
The home side got their third when Ben Metcalfe’s superb through ball was pounced upon by Sam Lambert who rounded the oncoming keeper before slotting home for his second of the game.
