Richmond Rotary Club makes donations

Lt Col Joe Jordon , Garrison Commander and Robert Hughes, Richmond Rotary Club president.

Rotary Club of Richmond donated cheques to two local worthy causes at their November meeting.

One went to Lieutenant Colonel Joe Jordan, the commander of Catterick Garrison, to add to his fund to provide a lasting memorial in the Garrison to remember those who have lost their lives while fighting for their country.

This memorial will feature four stone carved statues erected on the Camp Centre roundabout and will be unveiled at a short service on December 11am.

Money was also handed over to Michaela Ryder, senior fundraising manager for Macmillan Cancer Support, who gave an illustrated talk about the work of the charity.

This included details of the soon to be opened Sir Robert Ogden Macmillan Centre at the Friarage Hospital in Northallerton.

Michaela also invited club members to a drop-in preview of the new facilities later in the week.
