Richmond School and Sixth Form College student Chloe Woods has landed the A-Level results she hoped for to fulfil her dream of joining the RAF.
The 18-year-old, of Catterick Garrison, has cemented her place at Initial Officer Training at RAF College Cranwell, Lincolnshire, with an A and two C grades.
“Everything counted on these results today and I am so happy,” she said.
“This will be the start of my career to become an intelligence officer.”
Head of sixth form Leslie Richardson said: “We are very proud of Chloe securing her place at RAF Cranwell.
“Chloe received a grade A for a play she wrote, produced and starred in regarding the conflict of war after being inspired by her granddad who fought in World War 2.”
Fellow students Ted While and Tom Pearson, both 18 from Richmond, have confirmed places at Cambridge University with their results.
Ted achieved four A* and will study computer science, while Tom’s A* and two As will see him study geography at the prestigious university.
Head girl Emily Wood, 18, of Richmond, will be heading to Newcastle University to study chemistry.
Olivia Wallis, 18, of Marske, near Richmond, will be heading for a gap year with four A*s and Oliver Pennock, of Bedale, will be having double celebrations after securing four A*s as he turns 18.
Headteacher Jenna Potter said: “It has been an extremely positive day with some excellent results and we are delighted that almost every student has been able to access their university placement of choice.”
