Richmond soap maker wins fourth award in four months

A Richmond soap maker is celebrating after winning her fourth award in as many months.

BEAM, owned by businesswoman Amy D’Arcy, won the award with their six soap luxury gift set in the Free From Gift Awards.

Amy makes all her own products in her home workshop in Richmond.

The awards were launched in 2020 by the same team behind the annual Free From Skincare Awards in order to celebrate the best beauty gift sets from brands who create products that are ‘free from’ some of the allergens, chemicals, additives and fragrances associated with skin sensitivities, allergies, and ethical, environmental and health concerns.

Amy also won two silver awards, plus a bronze in July 2022 for her soaps.

Amy said: “I am absolutely over the moon to have been awarded the gold for my gift set.

“I was watching the bronze and silver results come through and thought I was out of the running.

“Then it was announced that I had won in the category of best soap gift set. Of course, I was doing happy dances for the rest of the week and still have a big smile on my face.”

Amy formulated her own range of all natural soaps and skincare because of concerns about potentially harmful chemicals in some cosmetic products.

“I wanted to create amazing soaps and skincare, without all the unnecessary additives that are found in many mass produced products.”

This particular gift set is extra special as Amy released it in collaboration with breast cancer charity, Little Lifts.

Little Lifts provide wellbeing boxes to women having treatment for breast cancer.  £1 from each set sold goes to Little Lifts to help them continue their incredible work.

“I released this set of six 55g soaps last year and it was incredibly popular. People like to try the different scents/colours and this set offers a great variety.

“These smaller soaps are perfect for travel, having by the sink or for those with reduced dexterity.  I wrap everything by hand, taking time and care with presentation to make my sets the perfect gifting experience.”

The announcements were made on November 9 following a testing and assessment process which concluded with expert panel judging sessions.

Amy has more plans for her brand for 2023, including a range of essential oil bath soaks and nourishing lip butters.
