Richmond Swimming Pool open day declared a success

The fun session at the open day.

Staff at Richmond Swimming Pool say a recent open day following improvements was a big success.

Hundreds of people attended the event to celebrate the re-opening of the pool on Sunday.

There was an early bird swim to start the day, following by aquafit.

Around 75 people took part in the fun session with the giant inflatable obstacle course.

After lunch, there was a water babies trial in the learner pool and the Richmond Triathlon Club’s session in the main pool.

The recently opened Nutrition Hut @ the Pool cafe, which is owned and operated by local chef David Routledge and specialises in healthy, low calorie tasty meals, proved popular on the day.

North Yorkshire councillor Kevin Foster attended the open day.

He said: “It was great to see such an important local facility being so well used by such a cross section of the local population.

“The recent investment is clearly working.”
