Richmond Swimming Pool will hold an open day today after a year of improvements.
New showers and flooring have been installed, upgrades have been carried out to the boilers and a new non-slip flooring has been added to the pool surround.
The mini golf course outside the pool has also been refurbished.
The pool and next door Liberty Health Club are operated by Richmondshire Leisure Trust.
The charity’s general manager, Austin Gordon said: “We are delighted to have the pool back open again, welcoming regulars and new visitors alike.
“We have a full programme of activities that is available on our website and is also posted on our notice board outside the pool reception.”
A new learner pool session called ‘pre-school splashing tots’ is being held on a Wednesday, with parents and their children invited to turn up and join in the fun, with no requirement to book. Austin added: “We are seeing a lot of happy customers who are delighted that we are back open.
“Richmond Swimming Pool & Liberty Health Club play a vital role in keeping our residents and visitors active and healthy.
“Since the pandemic there has been a heightened awareness of the importance of local leisure facilities in improving the physical and emotional wellbeing of the people they serve.
“Although Covid had a devastating effect on levels of participation, we have seen a steady rise in attendances over the last year and we will continue to work hard to provide the best facilities and services for our community.”
As well as an inflatable session, there will be a chance to try Richmond Triathlon Club for free.
There will be 20 per cent off all other classes.
