A group of young footballers have now scored a hat-trick thanks to the generosity of a local house builder.
In 2015, Mulberry Homes Yorkshire donated money to buy new rain-jackets for Richmond Town under-10s.
Last year, they bought tracksuits for the team and now the company has now donated another £500 to kit the boys out with a new strip for the next two seasons.
It forms part of Mulberry Homes Yorkshire’s commitment to supporting local groups/organisations in areas where it is building homes.
The company will this year complete work on its flagship development in Richmond, a 20-home excusive scheme known as The Orchard, which is just off Reeth Road.
Wearing the new strips is already paying dividends for the boys, who remain unbeaten in Division 2 of the Teesside Junior Football Alliance (TJFA) league.
Coach Jon Rutherford said: “Whether it’s the latest Liverpool, Barcelona or Richmond Town kit, the boys love getting a new strip.
“The new strip looks fantastic and we would once again like to thank Mulberry Homes Yorkshire for their continued support. It makes such a difference to the club when we receive financial assistance of this nature.”
Andrew Garrens, from Mulberry Homes Yorkshire, said: “We are delighted to once again be able to support the team and based on their results this season, it won’t be long before they are wearing our strip in Division One next year.
“As a local company, we aim to build long-term links in the communities where we have homes. Richmond Town is the perfect fit because it is a family club with a fantastic community ethos.”
