Richmond Town Vets lost out to Heighington on Saturday after losing key players to injury.
The 2-0 loss meant Town failed to build on last week’s morale-boosting away victory at Newton Aycliffe Cobblers Hall.
Town suffered injuries to several key players in the first half following several challenges described as “eye-watering” by the home side coaching team.
Heighington’s Paul Legg scored a great solo effort to put the visitors ahead before the break.
In the second half, Town continued to create — and then squander — good chances.
They were then punished when pushing
for an equaliser were caught on the break in the final minute with Pawel Rosen sealing the victory for Heighington.
