Richmond Town Vets were beaten for the second successive Saturday to opposition struggling with injuries.

Washington arrived at Earls Orchard with one sub and found themselves 1-0 down at half-time thanks to Mark Wilkinson getting his first goal for Town from a tight angle into the bottom corner.

After the break, Washington showed they are title contenders and were level through a James Simmons shot from the edge of the box.

They then went ahead through the impressive man of the match Chris Morrison with a low drive.

Richmond equalised through player manager Chris Lax, but defensive frailties hampered Town once again as Chris Anderson capitalised to win the game for Washington, who had three men hobbling at the final whistle.
