Richmond Tri Club athletes enjoy great start to season

Richmond Tri Club athletes have got the new season off to a great start.

At the test weekend for the British Elite Youth Super Series  in Loughborough, club members Matthew Lambert and Charlie Stephenson travelled down to try to claim a British ranking.

After roll down Charlie ranked 48th and Matthew 55th meaning they will now get the opportunity to race against the countries best athletes in their age group, quite an achievement.

The first race of the North East Junior Series took place in Killingworth and the club had a good showing there.

In the Tristarts category Finlay Holmes got his season off to a scorcher with a fine victory, claiming family bragging rights.

ristar 1 saw the latest Rabjohn athlete keeping up the family traditions as Ellie swam and ran her way to 10th.

Dominic Wilford claimed a podium in Tristar 2 with a comfortable third in the boys race and Holly McCowie was in tremendous form in the girls to take second.

She then backed this up by claiming R&Z Female junior athlete of the year.

Matty Cole in Tristar 3 finished fifth another great result on the back of last weeks second place.

In the same race George McCowie raced to eighth and Lucas Holmes a very respectable tenth.

In the youth race Kyle Rabjohn added another trophy to his ever growing collection with a great first place.
