He will now go on to represent Team GB in the European Sprint distance Triathlon Championships in August next year.

He said: “I’m really looking forward to a good winter of training so I can do my best for the team”

He is the second member of the club to race in GB colours recently with Jake Stephenson taking a bronze medal in the recent World Championships.

Will also followed up his selection success with a victory last Sunday in the Teesdale Triathlon beating a host of quality athletes on his way.

He was the youngest competitor and showed that dedication and commitment can be a winning formula.

Over the weekend, the club’s Harry Robson completed The Gauntlet at Hever Castle, completing a 1.9km swim, 90km bike, and 21km run.

Harry finished in at a time of 7 hours 4 minutes.
