Richmond Triathlon Club runs taster day

Richmond Triathlon Club held their first try-a-tri day yesterday.

A total of 22 children of mixed ages and abilities took their first steps towards triathlon with a free afternoon of swimming, biking and running fun.

The session, delivered by the club’s coaching staff and volunteers, took part in glorious sunshine.

Parents spent the afternoon watching their children step outside their comfort zone and try something different.

This was the club’s first trial day and they are intending to roll out more in the future.

The event was delivered in partnership with Richmondshire Leisure Trust.

Club chairman Richie Smith said: “We are delighted to be working with the leisure trust, giving free sporting opportunities to those who previously may not have had them.”
