Here’s what happening in Richmondshire (and Bedale) to mark Guy Fawkes’ dastardly plot to blow up the Houses of Parliament.

Bedale

Bedale’s bonfire and fireworks night will be held on Saturday, November 4 in the park.

The bonfire is lit at 6.15pm and the display starts at 7pm.

The refreshments and novelties will be available from 5pm.

Admission is free with donations welcomed on exit.

Catterick Garrison 

Catterick Garrison bonfire and firework display will take place on Saturday, November 4 on the disused sports field on Plumer Road.

The event is due to start at 6pm and will run until 9pm.

As well as the bonfire and the fireworks there will also be a funfair and food vendors on site.

Admission to the arena is free. Strictly no alcohol.

Catterick Village

Catterick Village fireworks display will take place on November 5 at the Sports Field.

Gates open at 6pm and the display starts at 7pm.

Adults £2  and children £1.

Refreshments including burgers, hot-dogs and hot drinks will be available.

Hawes

Hawes bonfire night and fireworks display will take place from 6.30pm on Sunday, November 5 at the community field.

Admission is free, although donations of £3 per person is suggested.

Organisers say will be the “best in the area” with a “professionally choreographed display to a stunning soundtrack” by twice British Fireworks Champions Fantastic Fireworks.

Hot dogs, soup, toffee apples and other refreshments will be available.

Leyburn

Leyburn Bonfire and Fireworks will take place from 6.30pm on The Shawl on Sunday, November 5.

Admissions is free but the public can make donations on exit.

Hot dogs, soup and other refreshments will be available.

The event is organised by Wensleydale Round Table.

Reeth

Reeth village bonfire and family fireworks display will be held on the village green on Sunday, November 5.

The judging of the guys begins at 6pm, with the bonfire being lit at 6.30pm.

The fireworks display begins at 7pm and a barbecue is available throughout the evening.

Admission is free and a collection is taken to support future village events.

Richmond

Richmond’s fireworks display will be held at Richmond School on Sunday, November 5.

Admissions is free.

Gates open at 6pm.

Refreshments will be available.

West Burton

Bonfire and fireworks on the village green on Saturday, November 4.

Bonfire lit at 6.30pm.

Pub food and barbecue at Fox and Hounds.

Free event, but donations in the bucket and to the raffle gratefully received.
