Richmondshire B&B owners wanted to solve urgent shortage of accommodation

Local businesses are being urged to help find accommodation for people in need across Richmondshire.

The district council is appealing to hotel and bed and breakfast business owners to help solve the urgent shortage of temporary rooms.

With rooms often empty over the winter months they are being asked to consider renting them to people in urgent need on a short term basis.

“Currently we have no bed and breakfast or hotel rooms in Richmondshire that we can use for temporary accommodation,” said Hilary Gould, Housing Options Officer.

“We hope proprietors will answer our appeal and rent out their empty rooms over the quieter winter months to people that are in urgent housing need.”
