Richmondshire businesses have been invited to make their pledge to the Armed Forces Covenant at an event this week attended by Brigadier Paul Baker OBE, chief executive of North of England Reserve Forces & Cadets Association.

Darlington Business Club will host the virtual event on Wednesday, March 3 and Richmondshire firms are welcome to take part.

Jayson Gurney, managing director of Darlington Business Club and The Social Media Consultancy, said: “As a veteran, I’m honoured to be signing this on behalf of Darlington Business Club.

“The reach of the club goes well beyond the boundaries of Darlington with a business from Devon joining us as a guest to make their pledge.”

Richmondshire-based Hunton and Garget Solicitors are attending to make their pledge.

Lisa Potts, managing partner, said: “Supporting our local military personnel with their legal issues is a key element to our business – from guiding them through the Forces Help to Buy Scheme to ensuring their future planning is up to date.

“We are happy to show our appreciation to the Armed Forces at any opportunity.”
