A new shopping app featuring Richmondshire businesses will be launched in the area tomorrow.
ShopAppy.com aims to provide collective online shop window and ordering servicer for every member town.
More than 100 North Yorkshire businesses have gained free use of the site for 12 months thanks to the support of the York and North Yorkshire Growth Hub.
The app is free for businesses to join for the next 12 months.
Once joined, businesses can populate their own mini-site with goods and services on their own town’s page and they are given assistance by the ShopAppy.com team every step of the way.
ShopAppy.com also aims to help services, trades, B2B businesses, chefs, pop-ups, entertainers, and market stalls with bookings, click and collect, home delivery and can even host virtual events.
Jane Nutting runs Out of the Box in Richmond.
She said: “We are looking forward to working with ShopAppy.
“It will help to keep money in the high street as well as making it easier for people to support their local shops, which in turn helps cut down on waste and our carbon footprint.”
Founder of ShopAppy.com, Dr Jackie Mulligan said: “We are delighted to be working in these great North Yorkshire towns and partnering with the York and North Yorkshire Growth Hub on the launch of ShopAppy.com here.
“It could not be a more critical time for businesses to work together and make it easier for locals to spend closer to home.
“And with Christmas around the corner, buying from your local businesses via ShopAppy.com is a great way to offer support and good cheer to your local town when your community most needs it.”
