Richmondshire charity seeks support from local businesses

Volunteers from Homestart chat to families.

A Richmondshire charity which helps children have the best possible start in life is looking for support from local businesses.

Home-Start Richmondshire volunteers work alongside families to give compassionate and confidential support.

Families struggling with post-natal depression, isolation, physical health problems, bereavement and many other issues receive the support in their own home.

Louise Guy, from Home-Start Richmondshire, which is based at Colburn Business Park, said: “Our aim is for every parent/carer to have the support they need to give their children the best possible start in life.

“Raising young children is challenging at the best of times; with a difficult few years behind us, our work has never been more important. The early stages of a child’s life are crucial for laying the groundwork for their future, but we can only continue to support families with the right help.

“Every single penny we raise goes towards funding our work, so we can continue to assist families in Richmondshire.

“It’s not always about funding though; we need to let families and potential volunteers know what we do.

“We therefore need the voice of local businesses in the area. That could be through simply displaying a banner, joined up social media posts or supporting one of our events — the list of collaboration opportunities is endless.”

Local businesses or individuals who are able to support the charity can get in touch by emailing info@homestartrichmondshire.org.uk or calling 01748 850079.
