Reviews from parents have resulted in a farm-based children’s nursery in Richmondshire being rated as one of the top 20 nurseries in the North-East of England.

A perfect review score of ten out of ten has seen High Bank Day Nursery in Stapleton awarded the accolade from the UK’s leading nursery review website, www.daynurseries.co.uk

It comes just 18 months after High Bank was rated outstanding by the national regulator of nurseries, Ofsted.

High Bank is the only nursery in the Richmondshire and Darlington area to be included in the top 20 list, with the others mainly from Teesside and Newcastle.

Nursery owner Lesley Thompson said: “We are thrilled to have been named as one of the top 20 nurseries in the North East of England.

“What makes it extra special is that it was solely down to the independent reviews of our parents.

“Since being listed on the day nurseries website we have always been reviewed highly but to be rated ten out of ten is amazing.”

A total of 31 reviews have been submitted about the nursery.

Parents are asked a series of questions, including how likely they are to recommend the nursery to friends and family and how they rate areas such as learning, outside space, resources, activities, cleanliness, safeguarding, management and value for money. This then generates a review score out of ten.

The most recent review was submitted by Emma Swinbourne , whose one-year-old twins Molly and Ella attend the nursery.

She said: “There is a lovely warm and friendly atmosphere within the nursery and my girls always come home happy and very well fed. I am sure the food I cook at home is nowhere near as nice as the food they get at High Bank.”
