Richmondshire communities planning to create land art to mark the 2019 Tour de Yorkshire are being urged to apply for a grant.

Middleham Sports and Community Association and Carlton Town Parish Council have already received a grant from the district council’s Tour de Yorkshire fund.

But there is still another £4,000 available with local groups urged to apply.

Grants of up to £1000 are available – and they can help with events or pay for the materials and equipment needed to create land art along the route the tour will take in Richmondshire on Sunday, May 5.

Applications must be made by 12noon on Monday, April 8 by parish councils, community and voluntary organisations. Individuals and businesses cannot apply

The 2019 Tour de Yorkshire comes though the district on its last day – riders will head through Middleham and East Witton on their way to a finish line in Leeds.
