A Richmondshire business has raised £3,815 for NHS Charities by raffling off a hot tub.

The Log Company set up a competition and lucky Leicester based entry wins Kirami Wood Fired Hot Tub.

To enter the competition to win a £3,500 Kirami wood fired hot tub, participants made a £10 donation to a Just Giving Page for NHS Charities Together.

During the four-week campaign launched by Gilling West-based  The Log Company, more than 380 people entered, donated and left encouraging words of support for the NHS, the public and the competition.

On closing the competition, all entries were allocated a number and with the help of an automatic number generator the winner was announced in a video via social media.

Lucky number 277 was drawn, and Arron Manchester, from Leicester, was named as the winner.

Mark Smith, co-owner of The Log Company, said: “We wanted to do something to show support for NHS staff during this pandemic, support for the general public for adhering to government guidelines and add some positivity to this strange time we’re living through.”

“We have experienced increased interest in Kirami Wood Fired Hot Tubs seeing as people are understandably making their homes as relaxing and enjoyable as possible and we wanted to give someone the chance to win the ultimate bathing experience.”

“Arron and partner Suz were very worthy winners and we couldn’t have been happier to deliver their prize.”

Arron Manchester, Kirami Hot Tub winner, said: “I donated what I could at the time because I’m very proud of our NHS and Carers.

“My mum has gone to work throughout the lockdown caring for our elderly and she’s a true inspiration.

“I sadly lost my dad suddenly the other month, I was by his side the whole time and saw how hard the staff at the Leicester Royal Infirmary worked to try and save him. I’m grateful for that and for all they do.”

“I also lost my income due to the virus, so such a win is amazing for me right now and has lifted my spirits. Thank you so much everyone at The Log Company.”
