
Although rain prevented any cricket last weekend, Richmondshire are building up for their two biggest fixtures so far this season.
On Sunday, July 30 they have a home tie against St Annes CC in the last eight of the ECB National Club Cup, the competition Richmondshire won in 2018.
St Annes had fortune on their side last Sunday when rain forced their game against Northern to be decided by a bowl off. This after being 116 for seven when rain interrupted the tie two weeks earlier.
A large crowd is expected with a place in the semi-finals at stake and the prospect of a final to be played at Lords. The 40 over match starts at 1pm at Richmondshire’s Hurgill Road ground.
The following Sunday, August 6 Richmondshire travel to New Farnley Cricket Club for the Regional T20 Finals. The other clubs involved are Burnmore (North East Premier Cricket League), Woodlands of the Bradford Premier Cricket League. and Driffield of the Yorkshire Premier League.
In the semifinal game Richmondshire will play Woodlands, who will be keen to take revenge for their defeat at the hands of Richmondshire in the 40 over competition. Their semi-final will start at 10am with a final at 4pm. The winner going through to the North Regional Final on the 27th August.
