Richmondshire businesses are being invited to a week of events aimed at helping them develop.
The district council’s first ever Business Week aims to embrace both established companies and start-ups through a series of free workshops to help support and grow them.
It will cover everything from the identification of new market and public sector supply chain opportunities, compliance and cyber security to how to attract and retain talent.
Experts from B2B North, Department of Industry and Trade, North Yorkshire County Council’s Trading Standards Team, Welcome to Yorkshire and the Local Enterprise Partnership will be delivering sessions during the October 7 to 11 event.
They will be joined by people from local successful businesses.
“We are very excited to be launching our very first Richmondshire Business Week,” said Council Leader, Councillor Angie Dale.
“We are hoping it will become an annual event to give businesses in our district the best possible support and advice. We have a packed programme of free events on offer throughout the week, so urge people to book tickets now!”
The week will be launched by key speaker Baroness Harris, a life peer and Deputy Speaker in the House of Lords, who is a great advocate of apprenticeships.
During the day a range of people will offer advice on recruitment and retention of staff, wider employment opportunities, apprenticeships and internships. There will also be a business expo with leading business support services available to speak to businesses about their offer.
The week continues on October 8 with workshops and one to one sessions in procurement and contracting.
October 9 incorporates the Richmondshire Business Network Business Connections event and a workshop on creating an accessible business. Growing your international market and developing a tourism business are the main features of events on October 10.
The week will finish with two events on October 11 with a cyber security business breakfast and a workshop focusing on developing a food business.
