Richmondshire plant nursery launches delivery service

A Richmond business unable to open because of the lockdown has launched a plant delivery service.

Middlemoor Farm, near Richmond, usually operates  a cafe as well as a plant nursery, however they have had to shut due to the pandemic.

However, they are now offering a delivery service on their plants.

Owner Sharon Stead said: “Our café is closed and understandably will be closed for some time yet.

“There are signs that maybe the nursery will be able to open, but we will have to wait and see. Tn the meantime we are doing local plant deliveries.

“A lot of people don’t usually have enough time for much gardening so are enjoying spending more time outside and it’s the perfect time of year for planting.

“We have seen a lot of lovely gardens when we are out doing our deliveries.”

Sharon said they had a huge range  of cottage garden plants.

She added: “We grow all the plants in the nursery on our farm or buy in from other British growers.

“We email a weekly plant availability list to our customers and once they have placed an order we deliver usually the next day.

It has been really successful and our customers appreciate the service we offer because when the weather is as good as it has been recently.”
