People across Richmondshire are being invited to help shape the future of local NHS services by sharing their experiences of hospital and community healthcare.
University Hospitals Tees (UHT), which brings together South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust, is holding a public engagement event at Richmond Library from 10am to 1pm on Thursday, July 9.
Patients, families and carers are being encouraged to discuss what is working well and where improvements could be made across local health services. Feedback is being sought on everything from the Friarage Hospital and The Friary Community Hospital to Reeth Medical Centre and other community healthcare services.
Those unable to attend can also complete an online survey, which will remain open until Friday, July 31.
The engagement follows UHT’s recent agreement to secure the future of Reeth Medical Centre by signing a five-year lease, allowing Central Dales Practice to continue operating a branch surgery from the site.
Dr James Dunbar, consultant in infectious diseases and service director for community and neighbourhood health services, said: “We are deeply committed to delivering the highest quality of care for all of our rural communities.”
He added: “The partnership to maintain the Reeth Medical Centre is part of an ambitious plan to provide neighbourhood health services to the people of the Dales.”
Residents are being encouraged to take part to help influence how health and care services develop across Richmondshire in the years ahead.
