Richmondshire District Council Leader, Yvonne Peacock said: “We are asking for help by people signing up to take part in the walk and gathering their own sponsorship funding.
“We are hoping to not only raise valuable funds for the Alzheimer’s Society but also to raise awareness around dementia within our local communities.
“Dementia is set to be the 21st century’s biggest killer.
“We are calling on everyone to unite against it and join this walk.”
Richmond, Catterick and Colburn Girl Guides will be providing refreshments in Coronation Park from 12pm.
