Richmondshire schools celebrate new names and new beginnings

Three Richmondshire primary schools have officially launched their new identities.

Eppleby Forcett and Midleton Tyas Church of England Schools, which have been in a federation together since 2015, joined with Richmond Church of England Primary School to share an executive headteacher, Kate Williamson, last September.

In November last year the three schools became part of a larger multi-academy trust known as the Dales Academies Trust which works with ten schools in North Yorkshire.

The three Richmondshire schools officially launched their new identities on Friday, with the schools now known as Trinity Academy Richmond, Trinity Academy Eppleby Forcett and Trinity Academy Middleton Tyas.

School leaders visited all three schools to celebrate the new names with students and staff.

At Eppleby Forcett, young directors Georgina Braidley and Euan Millar joined with Mrs Williamson and Damian Chubb,  chief executive of Dales Academies Trust, to cut a ribbon and cake to mark the occasion.

Mrs Williamson said: “Our names clearly embrace both our Christian heritage but also our partnership working.

“Our uniform and school logos will probably be changing but the heart and soul of our schools remain.

“We pride ourselves in putting our children at the forefront of everything we do and we will always continue to strive to ensure we give all our students the best primary education possible.”
