Riding for the Disabled’s Richmond and Catterick group is looking for more volunteers for an hour on a Saturday afternoon.
The charity says current volunteers come from all walks of life – young, working age and retired – and live in various areas, including Barnard Castle, Darlington, Richmond, Northallerton, Leyburn, Bedale, and Catterick.
Saturday lead coach Sheri Wild said: “We need more volunteers for our Saturday Group’s disabled adults and children.
“Lessons are held at Catterick Garrison Saddle Club and it is a one hour lesson on a Saturday afternoon.
“We’ve a number of different roles to fill from organisational to arena support. You don’t need to be ‘horsey’ as full training is given and you won’t have to come every week as we are very flexible.
“Perhaps you also know a friend or family member who would be interested in joining us. Already one of our school-age volunteers has introduced three friends studying for their Duke of Edinburgh awards. All three are now doing their DofE volunteering with us on a Saturday afternoon.”
“I would urge anyone, from 12 years up, to call and find out more. We welcome potential volunteers to visit us first to see if this opportunity is for them.”
