Riding for the Disabled to attend Wensleydale Show

Richmond & Catterick Group Riding for the Disabled (RDA) will have a stand at the Wensleydale Show on Bank Holiday Saturday.

Some of the group’s disabled riders will join volunteers as they raise some funds to help continue lessons on Wednesday mornings and Saturday afternoons, and encourage more volunteers to be part of the Group.

Both existing volunteers, and riders, will be on hand throughout the day to explain to visitors just what being a volunteer means, for example no requirement for horse knowledge, nor having to attend every week and so on.

Chairman David Summers, said: “We are very much hoping for the sun to shine on the final bank holiday of the year.

“But visitors need not worry as there will be cover from a gazebo at our stand.

“Come along and learn about what we do and how to become a volunteer and join our happy band.”
