The Class of 2026 at Risedale School marked the end of their secondary school journey in style at their annual Year 11 prom.
Pupils gathered at the Hall Garth Hotel on Friday, June 26, for an evening of celebration, bringing together classmates and staff to mark the end of five years at the school.
Dressed in formal attire, the Year 11 leavers enjoyed an evening of music, dancing and celebrations, with one of the highlights being the crowning of the 2026 Prom King and Queen.
James Pollock and Alix Campbell were chosen by their fellow pupils to receive the titles, receiving loud cheers as they were crowned during the evening.
The event was organised by Risedale staff, working alongside the hospitality team at the Hall Garth Hotel to create what the school described as a memorable send-off for the departing year group.
Pupils also had the opportunity to capture memories of the occasion with a photobooth provided by Double O Events, while official photographs throughout the evening were taken by the school’s Teacher of Design and Technology, Mrs Vizor of Kav Photography.
Senior Teacher Mark Kirkbride congratulated the pupils on both their achievements and the way they conducted themselves throughout the evening.
He said: “School staff extend a massive congratulations to the entire Class of 2026 for their achievements and their exemplary behaviour throughout the evening.
“It really was a night to remember. Congratulations to the Class of 2026!”
The prom marked the culmination of the pupils’ time at Risedale School as they prepare to move on to sixth form, college, apprenticeships and employment.
