Rishi Sunak drops in on Father Christmas at The Station’s present sorting office

The Station in Richmond welcomed a special visitor this week as local MP Rishi Sunak called in to meet Father Christmas at the attraction’s popular present sorting office.

Mr Sunak spent time chatting with volunteers and meeting families enjoying the festive experience before heading into the workshop to meet Father Christmas and Mrs Claus. The sorting office – created and run by The Station’s events team – has become a firm favourite in Richmond’s Christmas calendar.

The attraction invites children to step inside Santa’s workshop, help sort presents and then meet Father Christmas for a photo, before exploring the wider venue and its festive offerings.

Mr Sunak said: “The Station team have once more put together a wonderful festive programme. The Present Sorting Office is a great place to meet Santa and it was lovely to see all the children’s happy, excited faces.”

Gemma Lord, chief executive of the Richmondshire Building Preservation Trust, which tuns The Station, added: “We were delighted to welcome Rishi Sunak to The Station again today. Our Present Sorting Office is incredibly special, and it was wonderful to share some festive magic with him.

“His support for The Station over the years has been much appreciated, and we are grateful for his continued support as we continue to develop this community venue and create unique experiences for the people of Richmond.”

The Station’s full Christmas programme runs throughout December, offering a range of affordable events and activities for all ages.
