Rishi Sunak given role in Boris Johnson Cabinet

Rishi Sunak MP addresses the YFC forum at Thirsk Auction Mart.

Rishi Sunak has been given a role in new Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s first Cabinet.

The Richmond MP is the new Chief Secretary to the Treasury.

The position is the third most important job within the Treasury behind the Prime Minister and the Chancellor.

Mr Sunak was previously the Parliamentary Under Secretary of State at the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government.

The MP came out in support of the new PM ahead of the selection process to find the Tory leader.

He made regular appearances on television to speak on behalf of the prospective Prime Minister.

  1. That’s another idiot to help destroy the country further. He doesn’t do anything now!

  2. Love him or hate him, HE HAS kept to his word throughout on issues unlike a lot of MPs: who have ignored their own constituents they promised to represent, actively destabilised Parliament proceedures, had more fingers in the tills than Barclays and have set out to refuse/destroy democratic decisions right or wrong. I think he will go far and wish him well and I am not a Conservative voter
