A road in Leyburn was closed this morning after a power cable came down.
Richmond Road, near The Wensleydale School, was shut while the cable was removed.
The cable had come down across the road and pavement.
Police and ambulance attended the scene along with engineers from Northern Powergrid.
Motorists and pedestrians were being turned around.
The road has since reopened.
