Motorists are being urged to avoid the B6255 following a serious collision between Ribblehead and Hawes earlier today.
North Yorkshire Police said the road is likely to remain closed in both directions for some time while emergency services deal with the incident.
Three air ambulances attended the scene, alongside fire engines, road ambulances and at least eight police vehicles.
Drivers are advised to avoid the area and seek alternative routes, following local traffic updates where possible.
Police have thanked the public for their patience and understanding as crews continue to respond to the incident.
