
Winds of more than 90mph have battered the district overnight bringing trees and power lines down.
Storm Arwen has caused a number of power cuts in the Dales with homes in Bishopdale and Wensleydale losing power on Friday evening.
Power has been restored to some properties overnight, but some residents say their power is still off this morning.

The A66 trans-Pennine route is shut due to snow and the high winds, with vehicles reported to be stuck within the closure.
Trees have blown down and are blocking a number of roads this morning.
Two trees are reported to be down near Redmire blocking the road towards Wensley and Leyburn.
A tree is also down on the A6108 near Jervaulx at Masham Bank.

The Tan Hill Inn had to provide emergency accommodation for customers left stranded by heavy snow.
Music-lovers who had arrived to watch Oasis tribute group Noasis last night were given bedding and space on the floor in the bar.
Wind speeds of more than 86mph were recorded on Whether Fell above Hawes, while speeds of more than 90mph were reported near Settle.
