John Holliday, chairman of the operatic society, said “This is an amazing achievement for our local theatre companies.

“We were up against much larger societies with bigger budgets and it’s amazing to see that we can have as much of an impact on a smaller scale. Our members’ dedication and hard work is second to none and truly they deserve this recognition.

ROS are currently rehearsing for Scrooge! 15th – 18th November and RADS perform The Clink 9th-11th November both at The Georgian Theatre Royal, Richmond.
