Rotary club members support Richmondshire Museum with donation

Richmond Rotary Club has handed over a cheque for £1,000 to support the work of Richmondshire Museum.

Members attended a special evening visit to the museum last week week when club president Emma Fulton handed over the donation.

She said: “We are very fortunate to have such a brilliant local museum in Richmond.

“Although it is tucked away it is actually very close to the Town centre and very accessible.”

Emma said Richmond Rotarians were impressed with the wide range of information and artefacts at the Museum.

“It is clear that there have been many important developments in recent years including a fascinating reproduction of the original Fenwick’s shop in Frenchgate, Richmond.

“We came away thinking that there really is something here of interest for all age groups and it is wonderful to learn so much about the history and people in the beautiful area in which we live.

“I am delighted that Richmond Rotary Club has been able to support the excellent work being undertaken by the directors and the volunteers who keep this important local resource working and developing.”
