Salon staff raise £20,000 for women’s charity

Staff at Saks at Sedbury Hall have raised over £20,000 for The Eve Appeal as part of the national salon group’s drive to help raise funds and awareness for the women’s charity.

The team at the salon near Scotch Corner has until the end of April to become the Saks salon with the biggest fundraising total, which currently stands at £22,835.

Their ultimate aim, to win Saks Fundraising Salon of the Year for the second time, after picking up the award in 2019.

Stylists and beauty therapists at the Sedbury Hall salon have organised and taken part in a string of events to raise the money, including:

  • Seven half marathons
  • Three team members completing the Yorkshire Three Peaks
  • An afternoon tea event at Headlam Hall
  • Total Warrior
  • Three team members walking 350 miles in one month
  • Special events in the salon including raffles and auctions

As a salon group, Saks has so far raised £200,000, which means the team at Sedbury Stables have raised over a tenth of that total.

As part of their final push to top the £23,000 mark, the salon is holding a raffle to win a pair of the newly-launched Ghd Duet straighteners, worth £379, haircuts and Kerastase products. Tickets are £10 with all proceeds going to the Eve Appeal.

The Eve Appeal, the only UK national charity raising awareness and funding research into the five gynaecological cancers.

Anna Clinton, owner of Saks at Sedbury Stables, said: “It never ceases to amaze me, not only how dedicated the team is, giving up their free time to raise funds for such a worthwhile cause, but also how generous our clients are.

“We can’t believe how much money we’ve raised and with this last push before the end of April we hope to raise more money than any other Saks salon.

“I just want to say a big ‘thank you’ to everyone whose been involved.”
