Scaffolder steps in to help community mark St George’s Day

A scaffolder has stepped in to help a community mark St George’s Day.

Leyburn Town Council had warned that it would not be able to fly the Cross of St George in the town centre today because it had been unable to install a new rope lanyard in time.

The update was posted on social media, prompting dismay from local residents.

The post was seen by local scaffolder Lee Chadwick, who runs A Star Scaffolding.

He provided the scaffolding this morning to enable the new rope to be attached for free.

Lee said he was happy to help out.

Manpower for the work was provided by Sandersons ajnd Co.

Richard Sanderson, chair of the town council, thanked Lee for the help.

Leyburn Town Council is currently seeking more councillors.
