School marks Autism Awareness Week with coffee morning

The autism champions at Le Cateau Primary School.

The Le Cateau Autism Champions at Le Cateau Primary School i Catterick Garrison held a coffee morning for Autism Awareness Week.

They served tea, coffee, cakes and biscuits to parents and then delivered an assembly to educate both parents and children about autism.

Mrs Boothman, teaching assistant specialising in autism, said: ” The coffee morning was a great success not only raising awareness for autism but also raising money for the National Autistic Society.

“We are very proud of the hard work and dedication of the champions.

“The Champions have really taken on the importance of their role and advocating for all children with autism.”

All money – n£85.93 – raised will be donated to the National Autistic Society.
