A school uniform bank is to open in Richmond.
The initiative will be run by StoreHouse at the town’s Influence Church on Victoria Road.
The bank will open for the first time on July 25 from 4pm to 6pm.
It will be open to all with uniform for primary and secondary school children.
Suz Gregory, from the Influence Church, said: “School uniform is costly for everyone so we want to help with this expense.
“Studies have shown that school uniform for one child can cost between £150 and £300 per year. This is also a great way of recycling and reducing waste.
“If you have any unwanted school uniform that is in good condition, this includes coats, bags etc please donate them to us during June so we can get them washed and organised for this event.”
Organisers are also accepted any donations so we can buy some brand new items.
Tesco Catterick Garrison have also donated some pants, socks, tights etc that are all brand new.
“We already have lots of brand new school uniform with tags still on,” added Suz.
“We are really excited about this project and hope it’s popular.”
