Scotch Corner salon wins national award

Saks Sedbury staff collect their award.

Saks at Sedbury Hall, near Scotch Corner, has scooped the coveted title of Saks Hair & Beauty Salon of the Year at the National Saks Awards.

Saks Sedbury team beat off competition from more than 100 other salons to win this top award.

Hundreds of Saks staff attended the awards ceremony at the Hilton Hotel in London where guests enjoyed dinner, dancing, a hair show by the Saks Art Team, and the awards ceremony.

The judges took a vast range of criteria into account when choosing the winner, including proof of increased annual turnover, investment in training for staff, client retention, rebooking rates, customer service and they also took into account special things the team has done such as charity events or going above and beyond for clients.

The salon’s Toni Hutchinson was a finalist in the Advanced Apprentice Award and the Avant-Guard Hair category, while Skye Kelly and Emma Kearney were finalists for the Colourist Award.

The team also came second in the Fundraising Salon of the Year category.

Anna Clinton, owner of Saks Sedbury, said: “I’m bursting with pride for having such a fabulous team.

“I know they’re all brilliant at what they do but by winning this award, it’s confirmation that Saks Sedbury Stables really is the best Saks Hair & Beauty Salon in the country.

“More salons entered this category than ever before so we’re extra thrilled.”
