Scotton man sentenced over Catterick assaults

York Magistrates' Court.

A Scotton man has appeared in court for assaulting two people in a Catterick Garrison bar.

Leslie Gregory pleaded guilty to assaulting a man and a woman in JTs Bar, at White Shops, on November 23 when he appeared at York Magistrates’ Court yesterday.

The 47-year-old, of Oak Tree Avenue, was sentenced to 100 hours of community service, which he must do within the next 12 months.

He was ordered to pay £480 in costs, compensation and a victim surcharge.

The court heard the defendant’s guilty plea had been taken into account by magistrates when passing sentence.

Gregory was also banned from the bar for 12 months.
