The search is on to find Wensleydale’s best mum after a competition was enlarged.
Organisers of the annual Leyburn’s Best Mum competition have extended the contest to include the whole of the dale.
Leonie Garrard, from organisers Milners of Leyburn, said: “With so many entries coming for well deserving mums living outside of Leyburn we have decided to extend the competition area to now be Wensleydale’s Best Mum.
“We are delighted to announce we are once again teaming up with Penleys Café and Bistro for our best mum competition and this year it’s bigger than ever.
“It’s not just the name that’s changed this year – the prize is bigger too thanks to the sponsorship of Campbells of Leyburn and Lamberts florists.”
The first place mum this year will receive £100 gift card to spend at Milners, a meal for two with wine at Penleys and a beautiful bouquet of flowers from Lamberts.
The second place winner will also receive a great prize of a £50 gift card to spend in Milners and lunch for two at Penleys.
Fifteen runners up will win Easter eggs thanks to Campbells of Leyburn.
Leonie said: “Previous competitions have proven very difficult to judge with so many fantastic mums being nominated to win the prize from their loved ones.
“We love reading through all your submissions and look forward to this year’s entries.”
