Second Ukraine relief trip planned

The van drivers after dropping off their aid in Poland on the first trip.

Volunteers are planning a second  trip to Poland to take aid to those in need due to the war in Ukraine.

It is hoped a convoy of vans will leave from Colburn Village Hall on Tuesday, March 29.

Last week, 11 vans full of donations from across Richmondshire travelled to a distribution depot in Poland.

District council leader Angie Dale, who is helping coordinate the trips, said: “We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who supported us in getting aid into Ukraine over the past two weeks.

“Without people’s generosity by either volunteer driving, volunteering, giving and financial support we would not of been able to achieve this. You are all amazing.

“However, as posted in earlier posts their is still a huge amount of work that needs to be done. Therefore we are planning to do another journey, to drop off much needed aid to go into Ukraine. We will be leaving on March 29.

“Any help off the list below would be gratefully appreciated. We realise that people have given so much already.”
