Six people need hospital treatment after collision near Colburn

Six people needed hospital treatment after a crash near Colburn.

The three-vehicle ollision occurred on the A6055 between Colburn and the A1 Catterick junction.

Emergency services were called at around 1.20pm.

Firefighters from Richmond, Bedale and Ripon attended.

North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said four people were supported from vehicles, including two were medically trapped.

In total six people were taken to hospital by road ambulance.

The road was closed for several hours while emergency crews worked at the scene and the vehicles were recovered.

  1. That road should be 40mph not the current 60mph,and should have either traffic lights or a roundabout,too many accident’s happen there in the short time it’s been opened its crazy to keep letting it happen

  2. Residents are constantly calling for upgrades to this stretch of road. There have been numerous accidents at that turning towards Tunstall and at the junction to Brompton on Swale. The road needs widening and a turning lane adding and a roundabout (as originally planned) at “suicide junction”. Imperative if Catterick 52 project goes ahead!
