A66 back open after six-vehicle crash

The A66 is back open following a six-vehicle collision.

The trans-Pennine route was closed between Scotch Corner and Bowes in both directions.

However, the road has now been cleared and restrictions have been lifted.

Motorists were stuck without moving for at least half an hour.

Highways England said debris as cross both carriageways and motorists were urged to take care.
