A six-year-old Leyburn horse rider has been crowned supreme champion at her first overnight show.

Aila Wallace, who attends Leyburn Primary School, was riding her five-year-old Welsh pony Thistledown Xanthos at the Northern Lights Master Championships held in Grantham at the weekend.

Dad Stephen said: “This was their first overnight show and the first year of showing for both Aila and the pony.

“Aila had an amazing weekend winning all her classes and becoming supreme champion, reserve supreme champion and two highly commended results on the evening performances.”
