A rugby-playing solicitor has returned to her roots after joining a growing North Yorkshire law firm.
Shannon Bell, a former Richmond School student originally from Brompton-on-Swale, has joined Scotts Hall & Birtles as part of its private client team.
The 29-year-old started work with the firm last week after previously working for Teesside-based Punch Robson.
She qualified as a solicitor at Hunton & Garget in Richmond.
Mrs Bell will specialise in probate, Wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney, helping clients through a wide range of personal and legal matters.
She said: “It’s not just office-based, I might be visiting clients in hospitals or care homes, or out in the community speaking to clients at different stages of life, at different ages, or with different financial backgrounds.
“I like the challenge that the variety brings and I find it rewarding to help vulnerable clients.”
A graduate of the University of Nottingham, Mrs Bell is also a fully accredited member of STEP, the professional body for inheritance and succession planning specialists.
Away from the office, she is an enthusiastic rugby player, currently turning out for Darlington Rugby Club after previously playing for Acklam Rugby Club.
Mrs Bell, who plays at centre and fly-half, only took up the sport after watching the 2022 Women’s Rugby World Cup.
She said: “I just thought I’d give it a go, now I love the game.”
Scotts Hall & Birtles has offices in Richmond, Leyburn and Hawes.
