Staff at Specsavers Richmond have provided essential care packages to people experiencing homelessness.
Team members from the store on King Street spent the day delivering winter-warmer care packages to two local organisations providing frontline support in the area.
Retail director Kimberley Bewick and optical assistant Carmen Lewis delivered packages to The Beacon, in Catterick Garrison, which offers housing and tailored support services for single veterans who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.
The team also visited the Basement Café Community Hub, a free service run from the Baptist Church in Darlington, which provides a safe and welcoming space where people can enjoy a hot meal.
Kimberley Bewick praised the work of both organisations and said the team was pleased to be able to help.
She said: “Both The Beacon and the Basement Café Community Hub do amazing work locally, so we’re grateful we could play a small part in supporting them by providing winter-warmer care packages.
“We had a great day delivering the packages and enjoyed having lots of wonderful conversations along the way.
“As a locally owned and run business, engaging in and giving back to our community is something we truly value, and we hope to continue supporting initiatives like this in the future.”
