A team from St Francis Xavier School has celebrated winning an area seven-a-side football tournament.
The year 11s won every game in the event held at Bedale Football Club on Wednesday.
Ten teams took part in the competition, with SFX remaining undefeated, beating Risedale 2-1, Richmond 1-0, Thirsk 2-0 and Bedale 2-1 to win their group.
They then played Northallerton in the semi-final, winning 1-0 and Stokesley in the final where they came from a goal behind to win 2-1.
Jack Marley, head of boys PE at SFX was delighted with the win.
He said: “After such a long time out for the students playing in team sports, I’m delighted to return back to normality and buzzing to see our team win the area title.
“This is a talented side and despite playing against much larger schools they have won area cups, got to the last 32 in a national competition and made the county cup semi-finals two years ago, but unfortunately didn’t get the chance to compete further due to covid.
“This group of lads are a pleasure to work with on and off the pitch and it is fitting that they again showed North Yorkshire how good they are.”
